Each type of TOEFL® and IELTS® test is intended to measure communication skills with a series of tasks that reflect abilities that match cognitive and age levels.

The TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language) iBT® is on of the TOEFL Family Assessment which measures your ability to use and understand English at the university level. And it evaluates how well you combine your reading, listening, speaking and writing skills to perform academic tasks. In Indonesia, the TOEFL® iBT (internet Based Test) has replaced the TOEFL® PBT (Paper Based Test) and TOEFL® CBT (Computer Based Test) since 2005. Changes in the TOEFL® format to internet based also caused changes in the TOEFL® score which is now 0 – 120.

Meanwhile, there are two types of IELTS: Academic and General Training. All test takers take the same Listening and Speaking tests but different Reading and Writing tests. The Listening, Reading and Writing sections of all IELTS tests are completed on the same day, with no breaks in between them. The Speaking section, however, can be completed up to a week before or after the other tests. The total test time is 2 hours and 45 minutes.
